ShekhinahPR-backed Rawang BC shooting for the big one in PLJ2018

A much improved Rawang Badminton Club (RBC) are quietly confident of improving on their  6th place finish in last season’s Purple League Junior 2018 (PLJ2018) when the new season starts in a few weeks.

Spirits are at an all time high in their camp as both the management and players are determined to mount a serious challenge for the crown.

Rawang BC manager Jayaseelan Anthony said: “This club is ready to give the younger players the opportunity to show off their array of talents besides being on an important  mission to challenge for the PLJ2018 title.

“With all the talent our players possess, I truly hope they will use this opportunity to showcase their skills during the tournament. Some of them have been showing tremendous potential. With the success, I am convinced it will motivate them to do well in the future.”

National Under-19 player Eng Sin Jou is eager to do well in the latest edition of the PLJ and is determined to help RBC to finish the season high in the standings if not the top spot itself.

Sin Jou, 18, said: “Being selected to represent RBC in the PLJ this season is a huge opportunity and an honour for me. I am determined to repay the belief the club has shown in me. I am truly motivated to do well for the team.”

She added: “PLJ is the best platform for young players like me to show off our badminton skills on court. Known as one of the most competitive junior leagues in the country which means some of the best young players from around the region will be competing. This will provide us the perfect opportunity to develop our game as we aim for the next level. Also, I am sure the exposure will help us tremendously.”

Meanwhile, award-winning public relations agency ShekhinahPR has shown great faith in the club and as a form of motivation for the players, has sponsored Rawang BC to the tune of RM10,000 as financial support and to help prepare the players for the start of PLJ2018.

During a cheque presentation ceremony in Bangsar earlier today, Chief Executive Officer of ShekhinahPR, Christopher Raj said: “We have a good relationship with various sports clubs and associations in the country and I feel it is our duty to contribute to the development of all sports in the country whenever possible.

“We chose to be affiliated with Rawang BC because the club has so much potential and by looking at this season’s roster, I am convinced they will do well in the upcoming PLJ2018. I feel that this is RBC’s time to shine and contribute to the future of Malaysia badminton.”

RBC open their PLJ2018 campaign on 13th October and will be battling for the crown with eight other teams in Division 1.
