A month ago I was informed that former FIFA referee Kapten Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid was not well and was admitted at the hospital for a full check up, some even said he was battling against cancer. At 9.20pm Kapten Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid returned to God. "It is indeed sad that the country has lost such a capable man, at a young age. I have seen Halim growing from a national referee to a FIFA referee. May his soul rest in peace." said Datuk George Joseph, former FAM Head of Referees. Burnley celebrated a night they will never forget as veteran duo Robbie Blake and Brian Jensen emerged the heroes in a sensational 1-0 victory over Manchester United. But Jensen deserved equal billing for a superb penalty save to deny Michael Carrick an equaliser just before half-time. Jensen then kept his cool during a tense second-half that United dominated, without ever looking likely to deny a team desperately trying to record their...
FORMER Perak badminton player and badminton specialist writer K.M.Boopathy says that the ability to produce that extra spark when the chips are down is sorely missing from Malaysia's top doubles' repertoire, and national coaches Rexy Mainaky and Rosman Razak are leaving no stone unturned to solve this problem.
