It was the second match on the trot, and against weaker and younger opposition, that KLHC dropped points after a 1-1 match against Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) on Friday. But nothing should be taken away from TNB, as their gallant second-half display showed that they have the motivation and drive to battle it out with the best in the league. In other...

Tenaga Nasional Berhad proved too strong for Division One outfit Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as they romped to an 11-0 victory in the TNBMHL 2016 Knockout Tournament for the Tan Sri P. Alagendra Cup at the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Stadium today. Following two Premier League defeats within a week - losing 3-4 to Maybank and 0-1 on Sunday against Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) - the big margin win over UiTM in the first round was certainly a welcome sign for TNB as far as head coach Muhammad Amin Rahim is concerned. The win propelled TNB to the August 30 quarterfinals. However, the...

LOYALTY nowadays is a very rare commodity and only a few know what it truly means but TNB's loyalty to Malaysian hockey is beyond reproach. No price can be put on its support for the game, and by the same token, is hockey goalkeeper S. Kumar’s allegiance to TNB. It all started 16 years ago when TNB offered Kumar an opportunity to work for them and at the same time to enhance his hockey career. The offer came at an opportune time. Kumar had just finished competing in the Junior Asian Cup and was unemployed, so the keeper grabbed the opportunity with both...
